See your Heart Rate from Bluetooth HR Monitors during iPhone and iPad workouts!

For years Apple Watch users have enjoyed the benefits of heart rate monitoring in the Crossrope iPhone app, and we are excited to announce support for generic Bluetooth heart rate monitors on iPhone or iPad so you can see your heart rate while you jump!

When workout is starting, see heart rate of 62 BPM

Since Apple Watches don't pair with iPads, this is the first time we've been able to support showing heart rate on an iPad while you work out! Seeing your heart rate while you jump is a great way to see how hard you're pushing yourself.

Using a heart rate monitor during a workout, Free Jump, or Benchmark lets you see your current heart rate and zone, and your results will also show your average and peak heart rates as well as your time in each heart rate zone.

To pair a Bluetooth Heart Rate Monitor, click on Pair HR before a workout or jump session. As long as your monitor is on, you'll see it come up, and can tap Pair. Then once the workout starts, your heart rate will appear.

Before workout, shows Pair HR button at the top

Any generic heart rate monitor that conforms to the Bluetooth heart rate standard (Bluetooth Heart Rate Profile 1.0) should be compatible, including devices by Polar, Wahoo, and MyZone. The pairing process can vary per monitor, but here are some general tips:
1. If you have an Apple Watch paired to your phone, make sure the Crossrope Watch App is not installed on your watch.
2. Make sure your device is powered on.
3. Make sure your device is not connected to another app.
4. Make sure your device is in pairing mode.
5. Many chest straps require you to wet the electrodes before putting the device on.

If you are struggling to connect a BLE heart rate monitor, please refer to your device's user manual, or the manufacturer's website for troubleshooting tips.

If you have an Apple Watch and want to use it to read your heart rate during a workout on your iPhone, ignore everything above. All you need to do is to make sure you're wearing it when you start your workout or jump session. When you see "Check Watch" before you start jumping, glance at your watch to make sure it's ready to read your heart rate. There's no need to pair your Apple Watch on the Heart Rate Monitor screen, because the watch is already paired to your phone.
